Resting
close to the celebrated Bandhavgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, the Camp
Mewar or Mewar Camp in Ketkiya derives its name from the 'Ketkiya
Nala', a stream that trickles along its edge, and is a popular
tourist rest house in the region. Bandhavgarh Jungle Lodge is
walking distance from the Park's main gate and is in periphery of
the park. It has been developed on the theme of an Indian Village.
A mere 15 minutes rive form the Bandhavgarh Wildlife; the place
consists of 4 Aodhis, i.e. the cottages designed in the manner
of hunting towers of the former rulers of Mewar. These along
with 5 tents and 3 wood thatched huts offers comfortable
accommodations in Bandhavgarh.
Mewar
Camp is equipped with twelve thatched twin-bedded cottages
around an inner courtyard. There are two separate villas with
further accommodations of eight rooms. All the rooms are
designed in a classic Indian village theme each having its own
unique rustic charm. The cottages are spacious, snug and
inviting and have modern facilities including:

The Camp Mewar in Bandhavgarh offers dinning facilities to all
its guests. Inside Mewar Camp lays a spacious thatched dining
room laying out scrumptious and delectable Cuisine which is

Recreation at Mewar Camp
The estate has a meadow that attracts deer, which come soon
after sunset. One can take a convenient walk in the Reserve's
forest for bird watching, as the entire place is flourishing
with fruit-trees. As darkness falls, in the peace and
tranquility of the night and under the wonderful canopy of a
galaxy of stars, one can hear various animals call- including
the alarm-call of the deer, the howling of jackals, or the
occasional roar of a tiger. The lodge has a library with large
collection of wildlife books and magazines. TV & Video for
wildlife films, Recreational Centre, Indoor Games, Wildlife
Excursions (on Jeeps and, when available, on elephants), Nature
walks and on request - Village visits (for weekly markets and
local fairs) may be enjoyed.
Jabalpur airport is at a distance of 121 miles from the
sanctuary while the Khajuraho airport is 131 miles away from the
sanctuary. From these airports one can hire a bus or a car to
reach the place. The nearest rail junction from Bandhavgarh
Wildlife Sanctuary is Umaria, which is 22 miles away from the
park. The place is also well connected by road.
