wonderland, Mr. khadga Bahadur Khadka established the Bardia Jungle
cottage in 1994 after his retirement from National park service,
after serving more then 20 years. He has thus a vast storehouse of
knowledge about the park and will be happy to share the same with
you. Being a family owned enterprise, all service and activities
while staying at the Bardia Jungle Cottage is personalized and
accorded best attention according to clients needs and preferences.
It has expert and highly knowledgeable nature guides and birdmen to
accompany you ion order that you may have an unforgettable wildlife
experience. With these experts, you can also fish for the prize,
large Mahasheer, a game fish, which is considered an excellent
catch, at the mighty Karnali river. This river also provides superb
rafting trips and expeditions according to the clients needs.
Accommodation at Bardia Jungle Cottage is in attractive tharu style
bungalows which reflects the prominent local culture with hot and
cold showers and western style of flushing toilets. In order not to
disturb the natural habitats of the serene jungle atmosphere, we use
only kerosene lamps and candles. In the main dining room and some
rooms we also have solar power system. Plans are underway top fully
implement solar power throughout.

There
are regular daily flights from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Upon
arrival at the Nepaljung airport you are picked up by our staff
and driven to Bardia Jungle Cottage - a two hour drive. There is
also bus drive but it takes 16 hours one way form Kathmandu to
Nepaljung and Bardia. By private vechiles the drives is about 12
hours.
We suggest a minimum of three nights at Bardia in order to
appreciate what Bardia as a destination has to offer, in terms
of a unique wildlife experience. More than three nights will
make you fully appreciate and participate in most of the
activities and view more wildlife game.
