Singinawa
is a Sherpa word which means ‘Protectors of the Sacred Forest’ and
is the philosophy which guides us.
Located on 55 acres of land, in the tiger heartland of the world,
Singinawa Jungle Lodge offers a unique experience of the jungles of
central India with all the comforts of a world class lodge. The
lodge offers the chance to not only learn about the tiger and its
habitat but to also experience ecologically responsible tourism and
see conservation at work benefitting local communities and the Tiger
Reserve.
Essential Information
-
Kanha
Tiger Reserve is managed by the Government of India. Thus, the Park
timings, access and facilities are dependent on rules set by the
Park management and are subject to change without prior notice.
-
Kanha
Tiger Reserve is only open to visitors between October and June each
year inclusive.
-
For
visits to the reserve, clothing in subdued colors especially greens
and browns help you to blend with the forest causing minimum
disturbance to wildlife.
-
Summer
temperature ranges from 11° C to 43° C while in winter it is from
-2° C to 29° C.
-
Winter
mornings can be very cold as all trips into the Tiger Reserve are
made in open 4x4 vehicles.
-
We
recommend that you carry plenty of warm clothing including gloves,
scarves and thermals if you are planning to visit Singinawa between
December and February. In the summers as the sun is strong, we
recommend that you carry a hat or head covering of some sort.
-
Do bring
a pair of binoculars with you especially if you are interested in
Bird Watching. Kanha boasts of several hundred bird species.
-
Though we
do carry certain essential commodities in our shop, we recommend
that you carry enough medication, clothing and film with you.
-
Singinawa
is located in a remote area of the country and you will not be able
to use credit cards in most places outside the resort. Please carry
enough money with you to meet all your expenses on the journey.
-
It is
often not possible to make last minute reservations on trains and
airplanes in India. Please ensure that you have made and confirmed
all necessary air and train reservations before you undertake your
journey.
-
In India,
the electricity and all appliances used are 220v.
-
India
requires most visitors to obtain a valid visa for the country.
Please carry your passport and visa with you at the time of your
visit.
-
We would
also recommend that you are the beneficiary of a travel insurance
policy covering at least injury, death, medical costs, emergency
